TIGERS TALE OF THE TAPE: Clemson junior Tarees Rhoden reacts to the Tigers’ victory in the finals of men’s 1600 sprint medley on Friday March 31 at Mike A. Myers Stadium. The Tigers won the race in 3:14.02, less than a second of a second faster than Yusuf Bizimana and Texas (3:14.81). Clayborn Pender ran the anchor leg for Georgia, which finished fourth in 3:17.11, just behind third-place Arizona State in 3:15.17. The Longhorns led at the halfway point by a half-second, but the Tigers caught them in the final 800 meters.

Pitcher Sam Stevens and catcher Pablo Lopez are mobbed by celebrating teammates after Stevens struck out two batters to strand the potential game-tying run at third base to end the game. Nathan Nagy gave the Knights a 2-1 advantage with a home run to lead of the top of the seventh, and Lopez delivered the game-tying single that drove home Stevens in the top of the sixth with two outs. The Knights face Lake Shore in the area playoffs next week.

About time a sponsor gets into the rhythm of the group, something happens and along comes a new sponsor. Within the last three years, the groups has had four sponsors with the last being Nancy Kudela. This group hopes this one takes so some continuity can begin to develop. The squad continues to struggle with only a few members. Hows 30 years for continuity? After having three sponsors in three years, the Blue Brigade has had one in three decades.
