At the Austin Relays at Burger Stadium on March 12, 2020, one day before COVID-19 was first detected in Austin, Kendall Shenoda, Caytie Brown, Stella Davidson, and Zoe Tanner relax between their scheduled events. Tanner launched a petition drive to create a track class at Mac. In addition to making the sport safer and more competitive, Tanner believes it will improve an already strong sense of community among the athletes on the team.

POKER FACE: Junior Henry Rodgers strums his guitar during the chamber guitar performance at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q on Tuesday, Feb. 11. The show was very serious and intimate, the audience listening closely to the soft music coming from the guitars. “We were all seated so closely together on stage,” Rodgers said. “It was kind of difficult to keep a straight face and remain focused in such a cramped environment, but the show went really well, and everyone played nicely and did a good job.”

The varsity players on the court at game's end leap into the air, shouting and smiling after they had just won their last home game of the season. The score was 14-10 in the tiebreaker set against undefeated Ann Richards. Junior Grace Werkenthin tipped the ball onto the other side of the net, propelling the team to a 3-2 victory. “It was really exciting to final win that last set," Werkenthin said. "I was just really happy to help win with me team and see their reaction after the last point. Everyone was so excited to beat Ann Richards and to ruin the perfect record they had, so everyone was just screaming and hugging each other.”

Junior Marlee Foster, who performs with the stage name Merlin, sings a song for her opening set at the Micro-Moon Festival. The festival was held on Nov. 1 at the Austin Film School. For Foster, the live show was her first real gig and originally there was no opening act for the festival. Later on, however, Foster was asked to be the first performer. “I was very shocked,” Foster said, “because I'd heard about the Micro-Moon Festival and was going to attend, but then during Coffeehouse one of the performers, Jay Mathias, asked me if I wanted to open, and I was so happy.” Foster released her own song, "Red Eyes Pt. 2," about a week before the show and was excited to sing it live. "Performing at Micro-Moon was honestly so fun because everyone in the audience was so supportive,” Foster said. "They sang along to my song and started moshing at one point.
