A HAIR, RAISING EXPERIENCE: PALS Leah Gordon and Gisele Fuentes put pink tinsel in students hair during lunch. Hair tinseling was a lunch-time activity offered by the group to help fundraise for breast cancer awareness. “It was very tedious,” Gordon said, “I had never done hair tinsel before, so I had to learn beforehand. But it was rewarding to know that we were making money and that it was all going to a good cause.” Caption by Evie Barnard.

ZOOM TIME! For a kindergartner, it’s very difficult to find ways to learn while practicing social distancing and having two working parents. The solution to this? Well, obviously a Zoom class. SATURDAY SETBACK: The boys varsity lost 4-1 to Navarro at Noack on Saturday. The teams were evenly matched early, and thanks to some stellar saves from Knight goalkeeper Bryn Lewis, the game stayed even. After drawing a foul in the box, the Vikings converted a penalty kick for an early lead. Thanks to some effective passing, Jake Anderson advanced the ball in close and converted his chance to tie the score at 1 before halftime. Things went south for the Knights in the second half. The Vikings were able to possess the ball, break down the defense and score to make it 2-1. Two penalty kick goals and a red card later, the Vikings absconded with a 4-1 win that left the Knights still searching for a breakthrough win to turn their season around. In recent seasons, the Knights have played much better in the second half of the district season. Hopefully that history can inspire a Tuesday turnaround against LBJ as the second half of the district season commences at Nelson Field. THEIR OWN TWIST: Performing a featured duet, Sophomore Abigail Lehman and Senior Zion Flores sing with a dramatic glance down, a reference to the lyrics in their song. SENIOR SATURDAY: Senior Gabe Dancy advances the ball upfield on Saturday, April 20th, which the Knights lost to the Bowie Bulldogs 9-6. The game was the team’s senior appreciation day, and seniors were honored at the end of the game. “It was really sad and it is going to be really hard to leave the team behind and to their own devices,” senior Gabe Dancy said. “But at the same time it is kinda nice to move on to better things.” Reporting by Hannah Zuniga.

He gives us freedom to participate and create events that we are interested in. I composed this picture so that the one stone with the name on it is in focus, but the rest is blurry. SO: 800.
