PALS sponsor Richard Cowles puts the finishing touches on the Wall of Notable Women in preparation for the school's observation of International Women's Week on Feb. 28. The school celebrated the international holiday the first week of March and promptly shut down the following week when the first COVID cases were discovered in Austin on March 13. Cowles and his colleagues have not worked on campus since March 12, but they will return to their classrooms on Monday unless they have a COVID-19 medical accommodation to stay home.

DENSITY IS CALLING: Then sophomores, now rising seniors Amelia Paul and Mia Terminella ask chemistry teacher Robert Lehman a question regarding a density lab during their third-period chemistry class on Aug. 23, 2017. The focus of the lab was to explore how sugar and water could portray different levels of density. “We could always count on Mr. Lehman to help us and answer questions,” Paul said. Then junior, now graduate, Lexi Battle, Lehman's classroom aide, demonstrated a density experiment while the students in the class completed a measurement lab. Battle explained that each colored liquid was denser than the previous color because it contained more sugar and less water.
