MacJournalism captured 123 awards in the 2018 Texas Association of Journalism Educators Best of Texas journalism competition, TAJE announced on March 19. Dual threat newspaper and yearbook journalist Madison Olsen won 25 awards. Shield editors in chief Charlie Holden (17) and Julie Robertson (14) also earned double-digit award totals. Bella Russo led all photojournalism students with three. The yearbook staff won 42 awards. The Shield staff took home 52 awards for print newspaper and 29 for online newspaper.
