The college pennants outside the Gear-Up lab hang in an empty hallway on Tuesday as if they are markers for where the seniors will be when they next attend traditional classes.

If this were a normal April, Coach Nitardy would have been busy this week updating the senior portrait wall with the good news about seniors who were accepted to college in the regular-decision time window. Well, this isn’t a normal April, and no one will see that portrait wall since @austinisd campuses are now closed indefinitely. Coach Nitardy reached out to us today to see if we could help celebrate seniors on our Insta feed. We think it’s a great idea. So we reached out to seniors who were accepted into college recently to ask them to send us a photo if they wanted a shout out. We hope to build a virtual wall here to celebrate the #Classof2020 right here in this space since we can’t get to the space where the senior wall would be normally. It’s the least we can do.

ANOTHER POST ON THE WALL: If this were a normal April, Coach Nitardy would have been busy this week updating the senior portrait wall with the good news about seniors who were accepted to college in the regular-decision time window. Well, this isn’t a normal April, and no one will see that portrait wall since @austinisd campuses are now closed indefinitely. Coach Nitardy reached out to us today to see if we could help celebrate seniors on our Insta feed. We think it’s a great idea. SENIORS: if you were accepted into college recently and would like a shout out, DM us a picture in your college shirt, or holding your acceptance letter, or hugging the mascot of your new school, or whatever, and we will build a virtual wall to celebrate the #Classof2020 right here, right now. It is the least we can do.
