The Knights of Steel played a three-song Star Wars set on Friday night as part of the Alamo Drafthouse’s “Star Wars on the Beach” promotion in conjunction with the opening weekend of the new movie, “Rogue One.”
The Knights already had learned the Star Wars cantina song, but they added the imperial march and the main theme so they could go “rogue” for a live audience.
“It was actually pretty fun,” Knight Matthew Garcia said. “The people watching really enjoyed us.”
Fellow Knight Ramon Walker said that several people stopped to watch the performance; some of them even danced and cheered.
In addition to the three Star Wars songs, the steel drum band also played traditional Trini-Calypso style tunes.
“We got to wear costumes for the show, which was lots of fun,” Walker added. Photos courtesy of Garcia, Walker and the Alamo Drafthouse. See the Macjournalism Facebook page for video of the Knights’ performance.
