“Argo” won Best Motion Picture for Drama on Sunday night’s Golden Globes awards. “Argo” had been nominated in other categories, such as Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture for Alan Arkin, Best Director, Screenplay and Original Score. The film is also nominated for an Academy award for Best Picture.

“Les Miserables” snatched Best Motion Picture for a Comedy or Musical, and led to Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman winning Best Supporting Actress and Best Actor for their portrayals of Fantine and Jean Valjean. As a fan, I was glad they had won even though they were up against another amazing film, “Silver Linings Playbook.”  “Les Miserables” tugs your heartstrings and brings tears to your eyes.

As for “Silver Linings Playbook,” the film was nominated Best Motion Picture for a Comedy or Musical, and led Jennifer Lawrence to win Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical, and Bradley Cooper to be nominated for Best Performance by an Actor. The way these two played out their characters was amazing, and it was fun seeing how their characters changed over the course of the film. It was good to see Jennifer being way different than her well-known heroine character, Katniss Everdeen. Jennifer is an amazing actress, and I’m anxiously wait to see her in other film projects, especially “Catching Fire,” the sequel in the “Hunger Games” trilogy, which will be released Nov. 23.

Pixar’s “Brave” won Best Animated Feature Film, beating “Rise of the Guardians”, “Wreck it Ralph,” “Frankenweenie” and “Hotel Transylvania.” “Brave” is also nominated for an Academy Award against “Wreck it Ralph,” “Frankenweenie,” “ParaNorman” and “The Pirates! Band of Misfits.”

“Girls” was awarded Best Television Series- Comedy or Musical,

surprisingly beating hit TV shows “The Big Bang Theory” and “Modern Family.”

Adele’s “Skyfall” beat Taylor Swift’s “Safe and Sound,” winning a Golden Globe for Best Original Song- Motion Picture. Glad to see Adele getting back into the music scene after taking time off to raise her son.

The Golden Globes have come and gone, and now we wait for the 85th Academy awards on Feb. 24.
