The varsity boys soccer team won Tuesday with a last-minute goal against Cedar Creek. The winning goal was scored with 30 seconds on the clock by freshman Josemaria Mercado Garcia with an assist by junior Adriel Ocampo.
“The first half the team wasn’t communicating so well,” Ocampo said. “But we started talking to each other and we actually played as a team. We just got the win by passing and talking and picking up the pace in the second half.”
Ocampo said the team has improved a lot this season.
“Last year the team was brand new. We had trouble communicating,” Ocampo said. “This year we know each other and we do really good plays.”
The team’s record for this season so far is 4-1-3.
