Food Review- Ben and Jerry’s Milk and Cookies Ice Cream
More stories from Townes Hobratschk
Hello everyone! Sorry for leaving these food reviews on ice. The winter hasn’t been getting too chilly; warm enough to eat some ice cream, and that’s what I plan to do for y’all today, so let’s dig right on in. In Today’s installment of Flavor Profiles, I am writing about the Ben and Jerry’s “Milk and Cookies” ice cream mix. It is composed of vanilla ice cream with a chocolate cookie swirl with chocolate chips and chocolate chip cookies. I expected this to taste overwhelmingly like chocolate, but I was surprised, as I could still taste lots of vanilla flavor. The tub looked like a three to one ratio of chocolate to vanilla, but honestly, I would say the flavors were actually pretty well matched, emulating actually eating cookies and drinking milk. In my honest opinion, it tasted more like cookies and milk than other Cookies and Cream type flavors, which seem to be more composed of vanilla ice cream with some Oreos crunched in. In other words, it seems like more work was put into it. My one criticism of it is how it wasn’t really an original flavor, which is something I typically expect from Ben and Jerry’s, but I feel like this was definitely a very great take on the cookies and cream flavor profile. I think for flavor, I would rate it a solid 6/10. It was good, but I wouldn’t say it was anything special. For texture I would rate it 8.5/10, because I think this felt less like crunched up Oreos in my mouth and more of a smooth, flowing texture, thus giving the impression that more effort was put into it. Overall I would index this score at a 73. Now I gotta get back to the other half pint of ice cream I have in the freezer. This food review is ending, and that’s just the way the cookie crumbles.
