Lily DaMommio

Gergő Major

Senior Lily DaMommio found many loves during her time at McCallum. As a choir major (and this year’s choir vice president), math center tutor and science center president, DaMommio has conquered both the artistic and academic spheres. As she moves on to Texas Luthern University in the fall, DaMommio has the opportunity to pursue two of her biggest passions, starting with a mathematics major.

“I want to get a general math degree, so I can really cover my bases, but then with that extra fifth year, I want to get a master’s in education so that I can hopefully teach math,” DaMommio said. “The goal is professor level because I’d love to do higher levels of math, but I’ve really grown to love teaching it. I tutor in the Math Center and that brings me a lot of joy.”

And, of course, choir.

“Singing is important to me, and it’s also important to Lutheran,” DaMommio said, “so one of the biggest draws is that they have this phenomenal choir. They get to tour throughout Texas; they came to my church.”

Even though she’s ready to become a singing Bulldog, DaMommio will miss her Mac choir family.

“We’ve had a bunch of crazy years, but I love each and every one of them,” DaMommio said. “Every time we successfully put on a good show, there is nothing more satisfying to me than that. I’ve bonded with a lot of people through choir and I think that the environment of these people [that] I’ve known since potentially middle school, getting to be there as their voice develops and [as] we get closer as a group is definitely something that I will miss.”
