Coach Colton Collins sits in his office. Collins may be new as a faculty member, but not as a Knight. He attended McCallum as a student athlete under legendary coach Pat Honeycutt.

A COACHING LEGACY: Even though Colton Collins is a new teacher this year, he is not new to the school. Collins attended McCallum when he was in high school and was inspired to return thanks to his past coach, Pat Honeycutt.

“I was five days away from signing to play with college when coach Honeycutt passed away from a heart attack,” Collins said. “So coming back to McCallum was always a goal of mine, so that I could carry on his legacy.”

Now Collins is a special education inclusion teacher and football coach.

“My coach always believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself,” Collins said.  “I always wanted to come back here and be that type of leader for young men.”
