LET THE SHOW BEGIN: For new theater director Bonnie Brookby, her many years of music education have prepared her to take on McCallum’s very own theater program.
“I really turned to theater as a lens to look at the world,” Brookby said.
Her theater training began when she was studying at Trinity University in San Antonio, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in theater and an important understanding of history and literature in the way it relates to the theater. Brookby later enrolled at UT Austin, after directing at high schools and middle schools around Texas, to collect a Master of Fine Arts degree for youth and community theater. Brookby has a deep connection to the world of theater and couldn’t be more passionate about sharing her love for the arts.
