Giselle Fuentes

Next year, Giselle Fuentes is staying in Austin, studying engineering at UT. After spending countless hours helping out at McCallum with the Key Club, student council, PALS and the Blue Brigade, to name a few, Fuentes is grateful for her hard work,

“It definitely helped because I was able to fill out a good amount of the college applications with all the extracurriculars I did,” she said, “Sometimes it can definitely get a bit busy, but it’s definitely more helpful in the long run.”

She was only able to keep organized with the help of her trusty calendar though,

“I put it all on my calendar,” Fuentes said, “I won’t be able to remember everything because there’s so many different meetings that I have.”

Being a leader in her many organizations also has it’s perks when it comes to planning,

“Usually, [meetings] all fall on different days, and by being a leader in some of the different organizations, I’m able to help plan when we have meetings in case it affects other extracurriculars I’m in.”

While her time here was always busy, Fuentes will remember it fondly, whether she’s thinking about the friends she made, the football games she went to with the Blue Brigade, or planning events with student council,

“It took up so much of my life,” she said, “[McCallum]’s been pretty great, I’ve really enjoyed it.”
