If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio
“Beauty is terror. Whatever we call beautiful, we quiver before it.”
If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that this book is my favorite thing in the entire world. We follow Richard Papen as he attends Hampton College and gets involved with the exclusive Greek class. Things go very bad, like murder level bad. Eventually, only half of the Greek class is left standing. Richard doesn’t ever seem to process or react to what’s happening around him. In general, Tart’s writing can be dense. While I understand that most people don’t want to read three paragraphs describing a green rug, I do. Also, dark academia.
