Mac votes 2020, an Election Day #TuesdayTop10 gallery
We asked you to send us photos of you voting, either today or during the early voting period, and you delivered
Whether you are a first-time voter like the Mac seniors and Class of 2020 alumns how voted in the 2020 general election or whether you a teacher or parent who has voted many times before, voters in the McCallum community were part of a historic turnout in Travis Country and in Texas. According to the Texas Tribune, nearly 10 million voters in Texas voted early or by mail, more than 57 percent of registered voters. The number is more total people that voted in 2016 including on Election Day. A huge part of this historic turnout is due to the youth voter turnout. According to @kxan_news, more than 750,000 Texans under 30 voted during early voting, six times more than the number of young Texas voters who cast ballots at this same point in 2016.
“I turned 18 over the summer and I knew this upcoming election was going to be a very crucial election,” senior Aidan Golliher said. “I knew this election would need as much participation as possible. With everything going on, there really is no escape from current affairs and no reason to not vote.”

I enjoyed this article and photos because it shows people voting which is very important for this election. It is great to see people voting and participating in the election especially when I don’t yet have the right to vote! Still waiting on the outcome!
