I read Muchado’s collection of short stories with my book club as our Halloween pick. Although we were split on this book, we did agree that we were not smart enough to understand it. (TW: discussion of sexual assault) There are a hundred different ways you could interpret some of the stories, but in general, they’re about sexual trauma and bodily autonomy. The stories are all unrelated, but all generally discuss trauma imposed on women. While it is a darker read, I found this book compelling and would recommend it.
