Rosales shines at plate, on base paths; Boggs triples as Knights topple Jags in series opener

After the varsity and the JV2 teams defeated LBJ on Tuesday, the JV1 baseball team completed the first half of a Mac baseball program sweep of the Jaguars with an 8-4 victory at LBJ on a gorgeous Thursday afternoon for baseball.

After scoring two runs in the first, the Knights’ big inning came during a three-run third in which five Knights reached base consecutively beginning with leadoff hitter Jaxon Rosales, who drew a one-out walk to get the carousel started.

Connor Boggs reached base in all three of his plate appearances after going 2-for-2 with a walk. He also scored two runs. Starting pitcher Fabian Castillo also came around to score twice in the game. Rosales drove in two runs in the Knight fourth, and Matthew Kelly hit an RBI triple in the fifth.

Andy Honea and Micah Rushing also pitched in the game for the Knights.
