Outdoor pep rally a shining success

The pep rally prior to the varsity football team’s opening round playoff game last Friday shifted outdoors because the gym was hosting the McCallum Girls Sub-varsity Basketball Tournament. The unusual venue did not dampen the enthusiasm for musical performances and choreographed and spontaneous dancing. If anything, the sunshine seemed to fuel the festivities.  The football team left the pep rally fully fueled for the challenge at hand. They defeated Kerrville Tivy 17-14 at House Park for the team’s first playoff win and bi-district title since 2013 when the current seniors were freshmen.  The Knights (10-1) hope to advance past the second round tomorrow night when they travel to Eschenburg Field in Floresville to face Victoria East in the area playoffs.  Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
