Friday night’s game between McCallum and Seguin was like three games in one. The Knights controlled the first three quarters, then surrended three fourth-quarter touchdowns and the lead, only to rally down the stretch to win 31-24 on the road and remain unbeaten in nondistrict play at 3-0.
The Knights led 17-3 after three quarters but yielded some huge passing plays, resulting in 21 unanswered Matador points and a touchdown deficit in the fourth quarter until rushing touchdowns by Andre Blakemore and Max Perez tied and won the game.
Both players scored twice against the Matadors.
The Knights take to the road again Thursday night as they face the Akins Eagles at Burger Stadium. A week later, they will host LBJ/LASA for Homecoming.
