In a tightly contested match that went down to the final Baker game, the McCallum bowling team fell to second-place Stony Point, 19-10, at Mel’s Lone Star Lanes in Georgetown on Friday night.

The match began in promising fashion with the team winning game one with a season-high 877, thanks in part to Gordon Bolton’s season-best 197. The team dropped the second game of match play, however, with Max Cioci’s 178 providing the only highlight and the only point McCallum scored in the game.

The teams split the first two Baker (collective) games. The match was anybody’s to win in the final game, but open frames led to missed opportunity as the Knights saw their three-match win streak ended.

“We now have our backs against the wall,” Coach Randy Cannon said. “With only two weeks left in the season, we will need to win both of our remaining matches to qualify for advancement into the Regional Tournament.”
