Three seniors Jordan Gray, K.P. Smalls and Marcus Cole, signed their letters of intent on Feb. 5 to continue their sports careers.

Gray will attend Ranger Junior College where he will play baseball. Smalls will attend Lane College in Tennessee where he will play football, and Cole will attend the University of Pennsylvania where he will be playing soccer.

Gray said he is excited for the opportunity to play at the next level.

“It’s always been my dream to play college baseball,” Gray said. “I’ve worked my whole life for this opportunity, and I will try to make the best of it.”

While at McCallum, Gray has lettered since his sophomore year and was a first team All-District third baseman in the 2012-2013 season.

Cole said his opportunity to sign with Penn was one he could not pass up.

“Penn is such a great school, and the fact that I get to play a game I love and get a great education is a dream come true,” Cole said. “Going to Penn is not just about being a good athlete. It’s about getting a good education too.”

Smalls said he is ready to make the big jump and that he is grateful for everyone who helped him get to where he is now.

“I want to thank the coaches for giving me this opportunity, for sending film out to schools for me, for trying to make me better,” Smalls said. “I have been supported by my friends, family and coaches the whole way through this process.”

Smalls has lettered since his sophomore year and was first team All-District in 2013-2014.
